Our Philosophy

We believe in the humanity of all people and recognize that we cannot honor this belief without acknowledging the Afrocentric and Indigenous worldviews that ground our work. As Bryan Stevenson said, “Each of us is more than the worst thing that we have done or that has happened to us.” This truth is central to our mission: when we recognize each person’s worth, we open the door to transformation and healing.

Through education, training, and authentic communication, we seek to create belonging and deepen one’s capacity to respond restoratively to conflict and harm. As Waymakers, we are committed to fighting for humanity and justice, rooted in a shared responsibility to uplift, honor the power of voice, restore compassion, and cultivate joy.

Together, we work to build a world where our shared humanity is recognized and treated with love, dignity, and respect. We especially strive to help historically marginalized communities find a place for themselves in the world. We believe that when we affirm worth, we have the power to change lives and create a more just and inclusive world.

Leaving a legacy of leadership, love, and learning.
